A former language assistant from the UK prepared a vocab compilation about nightlife in the UK. It is another aspect of living in a city, which is part of the contents of macrotopic 2. I find the presentation very interesting as it includes colloquial expressions that you won't find in any text books. Have a look at it! Steven can help you with the American expressions.

Jolly interesting vocabulary compilation!!
Last summer I spent a week in London, and a friend of mine, taught me some words and expressions related to a night out (I mean partying) which I'd like to share with you:
*Booze (alpiste/alcohol)
*Booze-up (juerga con mucho alcohol)
*Boozer (drinker). Borrachín
*A boozy night (noche de alcohol)
*Pass out (petar, acabar reventado)
*Hit the bottle (drink alcohol excessively). Empinar el codo.
*To paint the town red (It's a very common expression which is used frequently in the UK) Salir de juerga
*A jammin place (It's a very cool place)Un sitio que mola.
*Let's have one for the road (Tomemos la penúltima)
*Get pissed (become drunk) Coger un buen pedo
*Pissed as a newt (someone who is very drunk to the point of incapacity) Borracho como una cuba.
Well mates, hope it helps you in your next visit to the land of Shakespeare. By the way, here you have the last one: Down the hatch!! (Va por vosotros)
