HAPPY IS UP; SAD IS DOWN

In Unit 3 page 43 there's a set of activities about metaphors. If you are more interested in a topic that I find fascinating and you like to reflect about how language works, you will enjoy the following links (but it's not compulsory!). They deal with different aspects of something that is overwhelmingly present in everyday speech (not only in poetry!): METAPHORS.
They not only help us understand idioms but also how phrasal verbs are created and used. We all speak in metaphorical language: I'm feeling      up/down; I won the argument; I'm
wasting time, etc etc.
