as I said yesterday in class, I'd like you to write a recommendation for a nice book you've read recently. Say the title, the author and give a brief summary of the plot and why you like it (either in English or Spanish). On the right column of this blog you can find a list of books I've read recently with links to the author's page or Amazon.In these places you can read summaries and reviews, by both critics and readers. It will help you write your post.

I recommend you the book I´m just reading, it´s The elegance of Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. It´s a best-seller in France and several other countries. The novel has two narrators, Renée a widowed concierge and autodidact, who takes refuge in aesthetics and ideas but thinks life will be easier if she never lets her knowledge show. The another narrator is Paloma, is 12 years old, a girl whose family lives in the fashionable building Renée cares for. Paloma believes the world is so meaningless that she plans to commit suicide when she turns 13.
Renée with erudition and Paloma with adolescent brio create little essays on time, beauty and the meaning of life.
